Hi! I’m Annalissa

As an educator, artist, researcher and community consultant with 12+ years experience in Community Education and Engagement, I am passionate about the transformative power of creativity and the arts to foster learning, social change, and healing.

Currently, I teach three course at Sheridan in the Bachelor of Social and Community Development program — Community Arts-based Research & Advocacy, Social Movements & Social Change, and Sociological Perspectives in Community Development.

I am also an active researcher pursuing my PhD in Adult Education and Community Development at the University of Toronto (U of T). My work broadly focuses on radical healing pedagogies in community learning spaces for promoting collective action and well-being.

I’ve worked with a wide range of groups across sectors and fields including, but not limited to: Eastend Arts, Culture Days (National), Dancemakers, Toronto Alliance for Performing Arts (TAPA), FLOURISH collective, Northeastern University, Municipality of Kincardine and Business / Arts.
